1 Male, Female, or M/F Pair of Long-Finned Gold Ram Dwarf Cichlid Live Fish

Description: This is a listing for either a male, female, or male/female pair of Long-Finned German Gold Ram (Mikrogeophagus Ramirezi) Dwarf Cichlid! Rams have been a staple in the aquarium hobby for decades, and rightfully so with their bright colors and vivid personalities. The gold variant is a unique version of the typical blue ram, and often an overlooked beauty in my opinion, and the long-finned variety brings a certain angelic twist to it. They are a little pickier than most dwarf cichlids about water parameters, mainly because of their affinity for warmer water, but are all in all quite hardy and do well when taken care of properly. Notorious for their feisty ways and fierce parenting style, rams are easily my personal favorite fish I've ever kept, and would love to see others fall in love with them just as I have! Rams require a standard hot-water tropical setup. Recommended ph is between 6-7, temp between 80-84, and a TDS of ~200 or a little lower.I personally raise my rams in a ph of 7.2, 82.5 degrees Fahrenheit, and a TDS of right around 200. These are adaptive little fish so as long as your parameters are somewhere in the general vicinity of the recommendations (barring temp; these guys do like it hot!) I don't doubt they'll thrive in your care. Rams are a semi-aggressive species that do well in pairs but not in groups. They don't do well with other dwarf cichlids but can go with larger/peaceful warm-water fish such as discus, some plecos, some corydoras, and schooling tetras. An increase in aggression is seen in this species during breeding. They are spectacular parents so they tend to be extra territorial and protective when they have young. If you provide an area of the tank dedicated to them, they will likely chase other tankmates away, but shouldn't interfere with other areas of the tank. Watching these fish parent their young is an incredible experience! Males of the species top out at about 3-4 inches including fins and females ~2 inches or so. A pair requires at least a 20 gallon tank, or a single specimen in a 10 gallon. The fish you will be receiving will be about an inch for females and about 2 inches for males, including fins. Females don't have quite as long of fins as the males, however they are definitely discernable from a regular finned ram. As I do raise my rams together in a large tank the long-finned rams tend to get nipped by their siblings so the rams you get could have imperfections in their tails; however they will most certainly grow back once they are out of the aggression and in their new forever homes! They take all kinds of food: pellets, flakes, frozen, and live and have been raised on all of the above! -Pictures above are of the tanks holding the actual fish you will be receiving. There are color differences between individual fish so I encourage you to watch the video for a good feel for color.
