Elephant folio illustrative of the historical towers and turrets of Belgium by Belgian artist and architect, watercolourist and interior designer Jean Baes. Dated via Jisc. In the original French.Collated with half title, title page, two leaves of introduction with text printed to recto, dedication leaf, two leaves of table of contents printed to recto [16pp], and forty nine striking watercolours tipped in to recto in printed gilt frames. Each plate loose as called for. Only lacking a plate illustrative of 'Gand. Le Beffroi 1884'. CONDITION In the original publisher's illustrated cloth binding. Externally bumped to head and tail of spine and extremities, boards lightly marked and soiled. Back strip cockled with minor chipping along joints. Leaves of text and plates loose as issued. Light minor spotting scattered to leaves, pages generally clean otherwise with a touch of age toning, as usual with the type of paper used.
