1927 Carl Zeiss Jena Goerz Dagor 210mm 21cm f6.8 in Compur Shutter 8x10 Camera

Description: Here’s a lens about which volumes of praisehave been written over the past century. Dagor design is essentially wide angle design, so this 210mm lens willcover up to 10x12in when stopped down to f45. It should evenly cover 8x10in atf16 (7x9in was original recommendation for that f-stop, but on 8x10in you’lljust have very slightly darker corners). Anyway, if you’re looking at this listing you probably know about Dagorlenses. This lens is in very good condition for havingbeen made 97 years ago. The coating onit is still undamaged, and there is no fog, or separation present. ON the rear element there are a few smallcleaning marks, but they shouldn’t affect the image at all. Aperture blades are all good, though. Aperture selector lever is a little stifferthan it probably should be, but still works well. Shutter functions perfectly at all speeds. 1sec is nice and snappy and sounds very closeto being exact. Compur design is truly alegend in its own right. Lens comes with a mounting flange that I waslucky enough to match to it. Flange isaluminum and is maybe 0.3mm too wide, but it works like a charm and holds thelens perfectly firmly with no play once screwed all the way down. Original leather front lens cap is included, aswell as an aluminum one that I found to protect both sides of the this preciouslens. Feel free to ask question if you havethem.
