Salary Pay ----- Radio Station Hunger Strike The strange ----- that caused consternation in Mexico City, ended on the afternoon of Aug. 25th when the Pan American Radio Company, owners of station XEAL paid the sixty two employees their back salaries in full. The employees had been on a hunger strike for 100 hours but continued their broadcasting programs. Photo shows: Mr. Navarette, popular radio announcer at radio station XEAL as he was closely attended by nurses, as he continued his work despite having not eaten for four days may before the photo was made. Their only nourishment, if it may be called that was pure water. Thousands of sympathizers demonstrated outside the station, thus aiding the striking artists. Photo measures 7 x 9.25 inches.
