Description: Vintage Advertising Matchbook Click images to enlarge Description Vintage Oversized LION GIANT FEATURE MATCH BOOK Advertising Matchbook Cover only measures approximately 3-3/8" x 9", flattened, and features a design on the front and back consisting of the logo of the 1939 GOLDEN GATE INTERNATIONAL EXPOSITION on SAN FRANCISCO BAY World's Fair and a view of the Expo's grounds and attractions held on "Treasure Island", in navy blue and gold, and the following slogan in navy blue lettering: A Pageant of the Pacific The inside of the matchbook continue the World's Fair theme and features a drawing of the SAN FRANCISCO - OAKLAND BAY BRIDGE; narrative about the SAN FRANCISCO - OAKLAND BAY BRIDGE and the GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE whose construction was an inspiration for the Expo; and, a "Greetings" box for writing a message or memory, all in navy blue, blue and beige, along with the following maker's information: GIANT "FEATURE" MATCH BOOKS LION MATCH CO., INC. NEW YORK MADE IN U.S.A. The Vintage 1939 World's Fair Golden Gate International Exposition Advertising Matchbook Cover is in Fair to Good Condition for its Considerable Age, flattened, with staple removed; none of the original matches remain inside the old matchbook. The match striker appears to be worn or used. Also noted is a remnant of scrapbook paper inside the matchbook suggesting it was removed from an album or salesman's sample display book long ago. Noted for accuracy is a message written in the "Greetings" section. Please see accompanying photographs.
