Description: This is a lovely circulated brown 1940 Lincoln Wheat penny from the Philadelphia Mint. The obverse die has suffered a catastrophic die-break as can be seen from the several cross coin-die-cracks and breaks. There are also strike-throughs likely from small metal fragments. There is also a strike-through indent on the reverse of the coin near the rim at the base of the wheat sheaf. This is an exceptional error coin.
