Robert "Bob" Chennault, 17, youngest son of Brigadier General Claire Lee Chennault, commander of the Flying Tigers famed for victories over the Japanese, who has enrolled as a freshman in aeronautical engineering at Louisiana State university and intends to be a flier "like Dad." He is seen as he paid his first visit yesterday (June 16) to the LSU flying field. He is one of the first class to register under the university's wartime accelerated program, which began with the summer term. He has never been up in a plane but once military regulations prohibiting his fahter's taking him up. Photo measures 10.5 x 8.75 inches. Photo is dated 06-17-1942.
