Description: Up for auction is a beautiful cover sent to the commander of the prison camp at Dachau, Germany from Sulzbach. Dachau was the first Nazi concentration camp and was the model on which all other concentration camps were built. After World War 2 it served as an internment camp for suspected war criminals awaiting trial or release. It was run by the US Army. Priced to sell. Postmarked January 18, 1947. Exceptionally rare postal history item. For the serious collector of Judaica and Holocaust related philately this is an exceptional item. Cover is in excellent condition but has been tear at bottom.
