Description: "JIGGS & MAGGIE" SOUVENIR COCKTAIL GLASS - 1950s Dinty Moore's Montreal. 3" diameter x 5.75". Red, yellow, & translucent blue molded plastic. We offer a well-designed cocktail glass featuring a 3" tall "Jiggs" figural in the stem area. Jiggs was a popular character in the "Bringing Up Father" comic strip (later titled "Jiggs & Maggie") created by cartoonist George McManus. On Jigg's back is labeled "Dinty Moore's Montreal", a famous Canadian restaurant/bar with an Irish flavor (renowned for its corn beef & cabbage). NOTE: Dinty Moore's was begun by James Moore, who changed his name to Dinty due to the comic strip (Dinty Moore was the owner of Jigg's favorite tavern in the strip). This is one of the more uncommon souvenirs of Dinty Moore's, being that the stem area is thin plastic and easily broken. That's not the case here. There are no plastic breaks. A scarce "Jiggs and Maggie" artifact with excellent eye appeal. Condition is considered GOOD with minimal surface/scuff/edge wear. Minimal glue residue on upper hat & base areas (as made). No chips, breaks, or cracks. Colors are still bold, bright, & very attractive. Overall, a very nice displayable example by most standards (see photos).
