The game was played on September 12th but was called due to rain during the 6th inning. The pitcher has inscribed, "To Robbie, Good Luck, Sept 13th, 1961, 14-2 N.Y 4-3 Chi." The ball is also signed by 21 members of the team, including Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris. Terry had an outstanding year for the Yankees in 1961, finishing with a record of 16-3 to go along with a 3.15 ERA. The Yankees would go on to win the 1961 World Series against the Cincinnati Reds.
