Description: This listing is for a British made SIDE STAND Mounting Kit to fit the 1971 Norton Commando models. This configuration of side stand (prop stand) mounting is unique to only the 1970 and early 1971 Commando models. In those year(s) the side stand pivoted on a peg and was held in place by a washer and circlip. See parts schematic in this listing. This kit includes three (3) OEM parts. The spring # 06-2515, the washer # 60-2333 (06-2723) and the circlip # 01-9512. Please Note: The 1970-71 early Commando "prop" (side stand) used a peg welded to the frame prop stand tab as a pivot point. The stand was held on by a washer and circlip. This was prone to falling off. In 1972 the bolt and nut configuration replaced the peg design on all Commandos from 1972-77. We have 1971 Commandos in our shop, one has the later nut and bolt design. It remains unknown if a previous owner, dealership or factory personnel ground off the peg, drilled the frame tab or welded the later side stand tab to the frame. If you have a 1971 Commando with the peg design and do not want to modify the mount, these parts you will replace the original configuration. Email us, if you are unsure of fitment.
