Description: For sale is a great 1973-S Eisenhower Silver Dollar graded and certified by NGC as PR-69 CAMEO. The 1973-S Silver is the biggest key date of ALL the Ike Dollars because of its low mintage of just over 1 million coins. These coins were only sold in special packaging from the Mint called "Brown Ikes" referring to its brown box packaging. People then cracked them out of the packaging and sent them out for grading or placed them in albums. It cannot be overstated how rare the grade of this coin is. Because Ike dollars were not known for being great strikes at the mint you rarely see proof Ike Dollars certified much higher than PR-64 or 65 at the most. But this coin is PR-69--and even though it one grade lower than being perfect, the significant thing is that only 3 total coins have EVER been certified and graded as PR-70--and those go for over $ 400.00 because they are so rare.As you can see from the pics the coin is in nice shape with lots of the mirror image shine you expect from high quality proof coins. it does have some ghost toning around the rim working towards the center which was very common with Brown Ikes from this era. And with it already being graded and certified by NGC it gives you the confidence of its exceptionally high grade. This is a great top shelf coin to add to your collection. Thanks!
