It generally takes 2 cans to cover the entire engine but it is possible to get the job done with one can if the engine has base color close to the final color. From the factory these engines had very little paint on them and there were many bare spots and light spots. the bottom of the oil pan was a dusting but the valve covers were usually pretty nice since that is all that you saw.We do a ton of research on our paint colors so they are as accurate as the factory.
