Description: Not A.I.: My game highlights are for those football fans who may be younger and know little or those older who may have forgotten. The John Robinson [CFHoF] led Trojans defeated [CFHoF] Bo Schembechler's Wolverines, 17-10. Charles White [CFHoF] led USC with 99 rushing yards and a controversial touchdown. Two-time unanimous All-American & Pac-10 PoY ['78-'79] and White would go on to win the 1979 Heisman Trophy, Maxwell Award, Walter Camp Award and UPI and Sporting News Player of the Year in his senior season. His #12 has been retired by the USC Trojans. USC's first Td, a nine yard pass from sr qb Paul McDonald to soph te Hoby Brenner [13yrs w/NO Saints] set up by an interception from soph db Ronnie Lott [CFHoF & NFL HoF, 6 time All-Pro, NFL All 80's & 90s teams] On the same day, at the Sugar Bowl, #2 Alabama upset #1 Penn State. Having defeated Alabama, for their only loss earlier in the year, USC vaulted into #1 in the UPI poll, despite one early-season loss. Alabama moved to #1 in the AP poll, sharing the National Championship with USC. [Note: For context, including this year's CFHoF 2024 Class, Robinson, Schembechler, White and Lott are four of only 1,093 players & 233 coaches of 5.78 million players & coaches (.02%) who have laced-up their cleats in the past 156 Years of college football to have been enshrined.] As with all purchases, item comes well-protected by top-loader with inner-sleeve and hard envelope w/packing list.
