1994 Mongoose Hilltopper 26er MTB | 18" C-T | 22.5" TT

Message me for more details! *** Here we have a 1994 Mongoose Hilltopper frame made with TIG-welded Tange Chromoly (main tubes). 18" (measured from the center of axle to the top of the seat tube). Condition-wise, this frame is in great shape overall. There are some marks from cable rub, and some minor storage damage (see the top tube decal, left side) and the usual scrapes from use, but a bit fewer than normal. The bike did have a kickstand installed but thankfully the paint damage there is minimal. The chainstay looks pretty good. The underside of the downtube is basically pristine. The majority of the paint's finish is just fine, as are the clear and bright decals. It's a very nice looking frame. Not super light, of course, but solid nonetheless. The bottom bracket spins well. The frame takes a 26.2 mm seat post, and I may still have the one that was on the bike originally, see my other listings. 130mm (not 135mm) rear spacing (but the frame can easily be cold spread to accommodate a 135mm rear wheel). The head tube is 3.5" long and is sized for a 1" headset. The top tube is 22.5". Everything is straight and solid. It's ready for you to give a little love - and build up! I have to use new cardboard boxes from Amazon ($8-$12 each) because my local bike shops can't always provide me with boxes in the sizes I need. Smaller frames ship with forks removed (if present), rear triangle blocked with wood, and lots, lots, LOTS of crumpled up newspaper to ensure the frame doesn't move around inside. Larger frames also ship with the rear triangle blocked with wood, and with any fork still attached. I use cardboard bracing in several key spots (front and rear brake bosses, bottom bracket, rear dropouts) along with heavy-duty zip ties to ensure the frame does not move around once the box is closed.
