Description: 32053 ICM ‘The English Patient’ Movie aircraft Tiger Moth and Stearman 1/32 The Tiger Moth is a 1930s biplane designed by de Havilland. It served as the primary trainer for the Royal Air Force until 1952. In 1933, the Stearman Aircraft Company began development of a new biplane trainer based on the Stearman Model C. Powered by 215 hp Lycoming R-680-5 engines, these aircraft were the first in the Stearman Model 75 series. The design was of mixed construction, with wooden wings covered with canvas and the rest of the structure constructed of welded steel tubes, also mostly covered with fabric. More than 10,000 were built.
