This makes these dyes especially attractive for formulating solvent wood stains and specialized inks. The photos show a 4% solution of solvent red in methoxy-2-propanol being used as a wood stain. You should be fine with any other polar organic solvent like acetone, isopropyl or ethyl alcohols. Application to wood does not raise wood grain!
