Description: Up for bid are 6 old children’s books. All are hardcover. At least 2 are first editions. Good for their age, but read each description to find any faults. First is a 1935 hardcover book, Little Tom of England, a sweet story by Madeline Brandeis "Crossing to England on a ship, Bob meets the ship's youngest page, Tom, who is working his way home after his father died in America. Before the boys part, Bob slips some money into Tom's pants pocket, but accidentally includes a locket that belongs to Bob's mother. " 159 pages; with some photo illustrations. Pictorial end papers. Book is in good overall condition with some normal cover wear and stubbed corners (please check photos as they are part of the description). Clean and unmarked inside. 90 years old! Next is a Robert Bulla book "John Billington - Friend of Squanto". Book is in good condition with some normal wear to covers corners. Very clean inside, with no marks to pages. A Weekly Reader Children's Book Club book. About 6.5" x 8". Copyright 1956. 88 pages. "Bulla is an outstanding writer who paints vivid story images in the minds of his readers while teaching them interesting facts. This is a fascinating novel for children about the Pilgrims' interactions with the Indians in America from a child's perspective. It is very accurate historically, (unlike Disney's abomination of Squanto the movie). They will not be bored!" 3rd is Altogether, One at a Time by E.L. Konigsburg. Book is in nice condition. Has Canton Area School District stamped on the inside page. I can’t tell is the flyleaf is missing, but other than that, this book is very good! What do you do when your mother makes you invite the most obnoxious kid in your class to your birthday party? This is the newest book of the lot. Copyright 1971 / First Edition. Also a First Edition is the 1958 "Happy Hollisters and the Mystery of the Totem Faces". Spine is good with minor wear at each end and corners. No breaks in the inside spine. No tears or dogearred pages that I could find. 182 pages and measures 5-1/2" x 8-1/2". Neatly written on inside page is "to Lois from Ray". Pages are not brittle and do not appear discolored. They are "rough cut" on the long side of the page, which I find charming. "Polly Pepper's Book" is a 1927 edition, the oldest in the lot and in very good condition for age! Some normal wear on corners. Spine is good with very minor wear at each end. No breaks in the inside spine. No writing inside. Pages are not brittle and do not appear discolored. No tears or dogearred pages that I could find. 305 pages, and book measures 5" x 7-1/2". Finally there is The Rooster Crows: A Book of American Rhymes and Jingles by Maud & Miska Petersham, copyright 1945. Sweet illustrations pair with well-known nursery rhymes, counting games, skipping-rope songs, finger games, and other classics loved by generations of American children. Hardcover. Cover shows a bit of storage wear, and a check mark on the front inside end paper, but pages are beautiful! I believe it’s in very good shape for the age! All are smoke and odor free! Please ask any questions before bidding. Smoke-free books. Shipping is Media Mail in the USA; cost adjusted for shipping outside the US. Thanks for looking! Please visit my other auctions!
