He specializes in beautiful relief carvings which feature classic Thai themes such as Buddha, elephants and lotus blossoms. At nearly 80 years old, Khun Saraan is considered one of the most influential wood working artisans in Thailand and has expanded his village workshop to employ more than 20 skilled apprentices.
