Description: Amazing and very unusual Morning Brooch with postmortem tin type. outer Frame tested 10K yellow gold (unmarked) and has bezel set pieces of black onyx. front of center frame is engraved, "William H. Rogers born June 30 1810 dies Feb 12th Aged 50 years". Brooch is approximately 1 1/2" long x 1 1/4" wide and has a total weight of 9 grams. Condition: Black onyx has some cracks. mounting pins are missing so brooch is not solid and comes apart like a frame does. the inner frame holes do not match, not sure why everything else is a perfect fit (drunk jeweler?) extremely unique postmortem here.
