Click images to enlarge Description Ancient Greek Cypriot bronze tanged dagger or spear blade from the Bronze Age, dating back to circa 2500-1600 B.C. The blade has a broad tapering double-edged shape with a flattened central rib flanked by two shallow fullers, making it perfect for thrusting and cutting. The blade extends into a rectangular-section tang with a "hooked" terminal at the end for easy attachment to a handle or shaft. REFERENCES: For related blades, please see: 1. There are a few nicks on the blade's edges, which clearly indicate that the blade was used in combat. PROVENANCE: Ex Private old Canadian collection of antiques and antiquities formed in the 1980s.
