Description: For sale is a RARE and FANCY antique 18th C Georgian period WOODEN tea caddy with beautiful inlaid nacre escutcheon. (mother of pearl) . The amazing grain pattern and the natural glow of the wood is highly eye pleasing. The box contains the two original interior lids with brass handle. Both hinges and the lock mechanism is present. No key. All Four brass feet are present and original. It measures 7” wide, 4” deep and 5” tall. It is in excellent well-preserved condition. Veneer is surprisingly well adhered. The finish material on all sides are original and in good condition. Age appropriate surface scratches and imperfections are to be expected. All in all, a rare and highly refined example of a 18th century hand made high end tea caddy waiting to be added to your antique box collection.
