Description: Antique French Gilded Bronze Furniture Decoration, First Empire, Ancient Egypt Head This handsome antique French gilded bronze furniture decoration is exquisitely crafted in the shape of an ancient Egyptian head. This motif, common during the First Empire, came from the famous “Retour d’Egypte” style that developed in France at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries just after Napoleon’s return from Egypt. The back is marked with the founder’s name, “L Noël”. There are three holes for hanging. With a lovely aged patina, this piece is in very good condition. This handsome and authentic antique piece would be an excellent object to display on a wall or on a piece of furniture.
