Description: You are bidding on a Antique Late 1800's VAN PEENEN & GEUKES Wooden Advertising Crate from Kalamazoo, Michigan. It measures 17 7/8" x 13 6/8" x 14". It does show obvious wear including missing wood planks so please see pictures for examples of condition. Note, this crate has been stored improperly through the years and is now fragile. There are (2) modern nails in the bottom board we assume to just keep that board on. From our research, this company was run by Peter Van Peenen and Derk Geukes. The 1887 Kalamazoo City directory lists the company and that they were bottlers...which is a worker in a Bottling Factory or distillery. It also is a maker of bottles or flasks. We believe they were a bottle making company and then purchased liquor from distillery's to fill the bottles. The family also owned a saloon. See pictures for condition since all individuals have their own opinion. Pictures are also part of the description. Item is sold as is. We either use a flat rate shipping cost for the lower 48 states or calculated if over 2 pounds...so you can ask BEFORE payment is made as shipping might be cheaper depending on your location to us. We will not refund shipping adjustments after a sale is paid for. No international shipping and will only ship to the lower 48 states. If you have questions, please feel free to ask before you bid. Please check out our others items for sale. We will combine shipping on items purchased within (2) days of each other, but you will need to communicate with us and let us send out a updated invoice prior to making payment. Payment is appreciated within four days. Thank you for your consideration.
