Here is just the most beautiful toy scale swing chair in a frame. It is about 1/4 to 1/5 scale. Larger than most dollhouse furniture! Mike got this in Mitchell SD on the way to a demolition job in the mid '90s. He bought antiques on all his trips across the Midwest during his long working career. This is a miniature swing chair hanging in a frame, a lot like a Guillotine in appearance!! It is wood pinned together with small wood pegs. The chair itself has woven cane panels in it, like Gramp's old rocker!! It is painted a dark green, with red and yellow stenciling of flowers and curliques! The chair hangs from 4 twisted wrought iron straps, and the upright tower is connected to the bottom runners with scrolled wrought iron bands! This chair has probably got to date to the end of the 19th century! It is way more craftsmanship than would be usual for this kind of artifact! It could of course be hand made by an artisan of the times! If it is a factory made article, I would be very very surprised indeed! This set is just phenomenally beautiful!!! I have never seen anything anywhwere near like it in my life!! I can see why Mike wanted to buy it! He claimed he spent a lot of money on it, too! It has been on display in my "Amish Room" for many years! One of the few antiques I let Mike keep in the house! He had, and still has, a lot of stuff I don't think much of, so it stays in the garages! He is liquidating the collection before he dies with it all and it goes to the landfill!! ONE FINAL THING!
