Description: This is a stunningly beautiful Antique Vintage Mid Century Asian Filipino Still Life Oil Painting on canvas, depicting mangoes and various Southeast Asian tropical fruits indigenous to the Philippine islands. The fruits are vibrantly colored and realistically painted, resting on a billowing red velvet sheet. Signed, annotated and dated in the lower right corner: "Simprosa MLA [Manila] - 71" in the lower right corner. Simprosa is a Filipino name, but I could not find any information on a painter with this name. Perhaps you know more about the artist or their work? Approximately 17 x 20 3/4 inches (including frame.) Actual visible artwork is approximately 11 x 14 3/4 inches. Good condition for age, with some minor paint loss in the upper right corner, and mild scuffing and edge wear to the original period frame (please see photos.) This work was acquired with several other Filipino paintings from the deceased estate of a former Filipino naval officer, who passed away in Southern California. This lovely painting would accentuate any tasteful home. Please check out my other listings for more wonderful and unique artworks! NOTE: If you are a buyer in the Philippines interested in purchasing this work or making an offer, please contact me before purchasing or making an offer. I will need to adjust the shipping specifics, as eBay’s Global Shipping Program has many complications with shipping to the Philippines.
