Description: Childhood FavoritesThese glass ornaments are believed to have been manufactured by Corning Glass and decorated by or for Schmid of Randolph, MA. Schmid had licensing deals with many artists and reproduced those works with great care and quality control. In the early 20th C. Corning adapted their lightbulb blowing machinery to make Christmas balls. Many were marketed under the label of Shiny Brite. In the 1970s the company sold ornaments under their own name. The image on this ball is:“The Tale of Flopsy Bunnies” by Beatrix PotterDated 1986 and marked Tenth Limited Edition, the ball has the same illustration of Thomasina Tittlemouse on both sides. The author, painter and naturalist wrote over 60 children’s books. This ball is offered elsewhere from $10 to $35 each. All items in this offering are just as they came from the factory. They have been kept in climate-controlled storage. They have never been hung on a tree and are presented in the original packaging. Please see my shop for more holiday ornaments and the history of the companies that made them.Shipping from Maryland, USA.
