Description: This uncirculated 100 Bulgarian lev banknote is a standard circulation banknote issued by the Bulgarian National Bank. It is a green banknote that is dated 2018, bears the signature of Stefan Tzvetkov, and measures 141 mm x 79 mm. Its obverse side shows a portrait of Aleko Konstantinov, the title page of “To Chicago and Back”, edelweiss flowers, an invitation to establish the Bulgarian Tourist Union, five people walking past trees, and the denomination in SPARK. Its reverse side depicts items from Konstantinov’s life including letters, books, a watch, a document, and the “Uncle Ganyo” character. Security features include a holographic stripe, a denomination registration device, a RollingStar Lead windowed security thread with a demetalized bank initials and 100, and a watermark of Aleko Konstantinov with electrotype bank initials. This note was honored as the Best New Banknote at the High-Security Printing EMEA Conference in Malta in April 2019.
