Description: For your consideration is an original governor and cam gear assembly for a Fairbanks Morse 3hp spark plug Model Z throttle governed, Stationary type Gas Engine. The gear has 70 straight cut teeth, and is about 7-1/4” diameter. There doesn’t appear to be any cracks, breaks or other types of repairs. This is a cast iron bracket not the extra fragile pot metal. The 2, 1/2” diameter mounting bolt holes are about 4-1/2” on center. The assembly turns, the cam follower pivots and the roller turns, but it’s stiff and has some wear in it from riding the cam. It appears to be a ready to bolt on assembly. It’s been painted dark green. There is a more modern screw in the center of the gear, it was like this when it came to me, I didn’t add it, so I don’t really want to have a discussion why it’s there.
