Description: CSA #4 Stone 2, 5ยข Blue, horizontal pair plated as positions 13-14, full 4-margins tied by a full strike of "CHARLOTTESVILLE VA OCT 16, 1863" double-circle datestamp addressed to "Ms. Bennett M. Bagby, Rice's Depot - S.S.R. Road, Virginia". Rice's Depot was located on the Southside Railroad, and the location of the Battle of Rice's Station, a minor battle that occurred during the Appomattox Campaign on April 6, 1865.
