Description: This East German Navy VOLKSMARINE Foul Weather Deck Suit is an original Cold War uniform in very nice condition. Jacket and Bibs are similar to heavy Grundens foul weather gear; heavy rubberized construction. Hooded jacket has many interesting details including hand/thumb straps and strap to secure under crotch via metal D rings; all meant to keep jacket on sailor in fiercest of ocean weather. Pants are bib type construction with suspenders. All fasteners are intact but a little stiff and require a little effort to fasten and unfasten. No rips or tears or cracking of rubber, some minor dirt as expected on an orange suit. Extra snaps and a wrench were found in one of the pockets and are included. Both Jacket and Bibs are marked as German size 56 which roughly corresponds to USA size XL. See photos.
