Description: This is a well framed etching by Edwin Forbes 1839-1895, who was an American landscape painter and etcher, whogained notoriety during the Civil War for his detailed scenes of battle and everyday life. This etching is dated 1876 andtitled “Fall in for soup” with etched portion measuring 15 3/4”x 11”, behind a new double mat in a very nice oak frame,that is original to the work, measuring 22 1/2”x 17 1/2”.
