This item consists of one, uncommon First Edition of this, the remarkable story of 101st Airborne Division as part of the immense effort of the Allied Forces to defeat the Axis Powers during the second World War. What makes it more uncommon is the fact that this copy was originally owned by one of the men who took part in the effort and shared the experiences. Reproduced by the Weider History Group Inc. in 2006, this original copy was published by the unit's own public relations office in Auxerre, France, after Germany's defeat in 1945. Its introduction makes it clear that this is a pictorial biography, and only a partial record of what the unit's members saw and experienced during the conflict: oversize oblong, 10.625 x 16 inches, stiff composition board covers with metal comb binding; 144 pages, photos and illustrations accompanied by text. Light rubbing and scant handling soil to cover edges. No handling evidence to interior and no marks beyond the original owner's signature.
