Estate Antique 14K Gold Fire Opal Diamond Blue Enamel Ring sz 4.5 sizable

Description: Here is this amazing early to mid 20th century antique solid 14 K yellow gold ring featuring a 13 mm x 8.7 mm pear-shaped polished natural Australian fire Opal, carefully examined under magnification this is a fine Opal without cracks or crazing and only has a couple of microscopic surface scratches seen under microscope not noteworthy at all this Opal has beautiful color play all the way around showing blues and greens and yellow and orange rainbow of colors, around 3.0 ct it is so very securely set in its original 10 claw prongs that are still in perfect condition. This beautiful Opal sits in a halo of 10 full cut round brilliant diamonds all around 0.050 ct each F color VVS1 - VVS2 clarity the ring a total carat weight around 3.50 cts weight calculated in the setting. Each of the diamonds is accented in between with blue enamel with a fine polish that is well preserved, the ring has the same blue enamel on the shoulders with at least half of the enamel gone on each side but you can still see that it was very detailed blue enamel work . This ring weighs 7.4 grams and it is can easily be sized by a jeweler . The top of the ring measures about 20 mm north to south and the opal and diamonds sits in a very sturdy raised gallery with an open back to see the back of the gemstone and the fine craftsmanship, the band is sturdy and marked 14 K on the inside. I'm dating the ring early to mid 20th century because of the full cut round brilliant diamonds although this is clearly Victorian craftsmanship so I guess we could call it Victorian revival .
