Description: I have a very large collection of books spanning many topics. A massive gathering of Philip K Dick titles and editions, as well as fine press, signed limited editions, modern firsts, radical movement and conceptual art items. I encourage you to browse my store and categories for a wide range of unique, quality offerings. Condition: SEE IMAGES. This is a solid GOOD+ copy. I would call it VG, except for the minor pen marks to the table of contents, 10 penned to right corner first page, and a couple/few pages at the end have LIGHT MINIMAL underlining. Not excessive, obscuring, or with marker or anything. I only saw it because I closely inspect all my books. Binding is square and solid. Some cover creasing. This is not a mint or pristine copy by any stretch, but for the age and what it IS, this is a specimen worthy of your shelf. Preserved in an acid-free archival bag. About: This issue is FULL of poetry, illustrations and photographs. The ads are great as well! The Evergreen Gallery section is titled The Great Delight, which is a long essay by Mulk Raj Anand on the spiritual background of the erotic sculpture Konarak. The essay includes many photos, including full-page. Poetry by Gary Snyder, Gregory Corso, Contributors below... H. FriedmanCharles Olson The Evergreen Review to this day remains an important part of publishing history. Something of a Bible for the Counterculture, with its primary purpose as a literary publication, it also gave focus to the arts. The sexier and more counter to culture, the better. It faced and gave voice to many of the taboos around sex, sexuality, expression in various forms, and pushing the boundaries of what was socially acceptable. Founded by the publisher of Grove Press, this magazine debuted and provided early opportunity to such Beat poets and writers such as Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg, Charles Bukowski, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Albert Camus, LeRoi Jones, William S. Burroughs, Samuel Beckett, Pablo Neruda, Jean Genet, Valdimir Nabokov, Susan Sontag, Norman Mailer and many others. It included cartoons and illustrations, photographs, articles, interviews and even a recurring erotic comic titled The Adventures of Phoebe Zeit-Geist. Originally, publication halted in 1973 with issue 96, although it was revamped a couple of times, and even now is currently available as an on-line subscription. I will happily answer any further questions. Making offers: I certainly can appreciate wanting a better deal, and I've made offers myself on my own purchases. To be up front, if and when you make an offer, I will automatically reject crazy low "give it away" offers. Best not to waste our time. With a more reasonable offer, I will review current pricing for other comparable items out there and either accept, counter or decline submitted offer. If in that review, I find my pricing is already LOW and outdated, I may then increase the price to bring more in line with other offerings. I spend a lot of time sourcing the best offerings, preparing the listings with images and clear descriptions, and price fairly in MOST cases. I remain grateful to all who consider my offerings, and I look forward to serving your needs respectfully and with success.
