Description: This large and exceptional Royal Nishiki handled pitcher is unusual in the style of the scenic painting of two sight hounds / spaniels / retrievers in the process of recovering a hunter's successful shot at flying geese. At first glance, it might be thought to be a hand painted 'LIMOGES' piece, but is clearly backstamped with the Royal Nishiki mark. (note artist signature at front bottom, again, rather 'Limoges like'.. perhaps painted in Europe 'post production'? ) The scenic is painted in the 'full round' wrapping the entire body in the imagery. This grand jug stands an impressive 12 1/4" tall and is approx. 7 1/2" handle to spout.
