Description: History: The 'Atelier Schnellarbeiter' series was the most refined line of Portrait lenses that Hugo Meyer ever made. It offered the petzval design character and a stunning speed of F3.5 wide open! Only very few of the well known lens makers could master such speed (Voigtländer Portrait Series, Dallmeyer 3B, Ross Cabinet). Focal lenght of 165mm and offers a stunningly sharp center and a quick falloff. As a sign that it was absolute top line back then it features a fully working aperture iris. Condition: This brass beauty comes in a nice condition. The aperture is working smoothly from F3 to F36. Both front and rear glasses look nice with the usuall cleaning marks here and there. All in all its still absolutely gorgeous. The DOF on the groundglass is razor sharp wide open and the outer regions offer a great example for that petzval character, especially at 4x5 and 5x7 formats, and maybe even fullplate (with some light falloff). Consider it a true alternative to the famous Dallmeyer 2B. Both lenses share not only similar stats, but also the built and optical quality.
