Description: Wonderful little gouache on card board painting in a later metal frame measuring 10 1/8" x 6 1/8", depicts a verdant landscape with a charming red house and stone wall. Unsigned, the painting was found in rural New Jersey, and we think that it probably dates to the 1930s or '40s. In very good as found condition, owing to the glass protection, the painting is housed in an inexpensive metal frame, much later in date that the piece itself. As part of the painting seems to be adhered to the glass, we have not tried to force them apart. A skillfully rendered little painting with pencil marks still evident under the gouache paint, this would make a charming addition to any art collection, and is offered with out reserve.
