Description: This is a Gemeinhardt C Flute. It belonged to my dad who recently passed away. He was a professional musician for over 75 years and played this flute for at least 30 years, if not longer. He asked that I sell all his instruments and that all proceeds go to a scholarship fund for aspiring musical students at College of the Mainland in Texas City, TX. I have had it professionally overhauled by Stacy Knights in St Petersburg, FL who has not only distinguished herself as a meticulous technician with instruments, but is herself a professional musician. Because the proceeds will be going to a scholarship, please don't make an offer on this instrument if you are looking for a "deal". I'm looking for a fair exchange so that students can benefit from this sale. This flute is solid silver. It has a lovely tone. An individual has informed me that it is a model X that was produced for Brook Mays Music. I was also told it has a Bb key that is not on all C flutes. I am not a musician so I hope I am saying this correctly. If you would like additional photos, please let me know. The silver is flawless but it is hard to photograph since it reflects every little thing in the room. I am not a musician so I don't know if it is a closed hole flute or a double. Some keys have holes in them. I will cover any shipping cost that exceeds the amount built into this listing and will of course ship it fully insured.
