Description: Pleased to offer this Toby Jug part of the World War I Allied Commanders Toby collection. Created by the Wilkinson Royal Pottery in Staffordshire, England. General Louis Botha was the first Prime Minister of the Union of South Africa and a commander of British forces during the First World War. He is shown sitting down, wearing the uniform of a Boer War general, and holding a jug that reads "LOYALTY". Originally produced from 1915 to 1919, this is dated 1918. These Toby Jugs are considered some of the finest examples ever produced. Measures 10 1/2" T and shows no signs of damage or repairs. All over crazing as to be expected with age.
