Description: This unique and authentic 108 bodhi seed prayer bead mala was purchased directly from McLeod Ganj in Himachal Pradesh northern India many years ago. McLeod Ganj is the residence of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and a large exiled Tibetan population. The mala is made with 108 gorgeous large bodhi seed beads and a single larger bodhi guru bead measuring 15mm diameter. Individual beads are of a consistent size and measure 11.5mm diameter. These medium sized well used bodhi beads are rich in colour with a beautiful sheen. The dark speckled seed beads have a special meaning for all seekers of divine wisdom. 'Bodhi' in Sanskrit means enlightenment. The mala measures 112cm round. The mala weighs 128 grams. The mala features a set of Tibetan silver alloy traditional bell and dorje style mala counters each with 10 beads. The mala counters are strung with thick yak leather.
