The boxed set is in very good condition, with the only signs of wear being the slight creases in the spine from having been read. It is the most noticeable on volumes 4, 5 and 6 as these are very thick books. The hardcover copy of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" is in like new condition, includes the dust jacket, and is one of the "mistake" first edition versions with 759 pages. These books were purchased new by my parents, and were only read twice. This set would be a great addition to your collection, or a perfect gift for someone who has never read this iconic series.
