HO Brass Santa Fe 4-8-4 'Northern' 3776 Class PFM/United 1970's EXCELLENT

Description: HO Brass Santa Fe ‘Northern’ 4-8-4 #3776 Class. Produced by United/Atlas of Japan for Pacific Fast Mail in 1970's. EXCELLENT! Although PFM produced quite a number of these sturdy, popular ‘Northern’ class locos, beginning in the 1960's, it is uncommon to find one that has been stored unused since purchased new in its original packaging -- like this example. The steam locomotive models from PFM's collaboration with Japan's United Models are well known for their durability. This Santa Fe prototype was one of their most popular models. The prototype was a Baldwin product of 1941. It featured the massive 24,500 gallon tender which allowed it to travel long distances without stops. The engines were originally assigned to the Super Chief and other premier passenger trains of the ATSF. This example is in excellent, near-new condition. I believe this is from a 1970's production. It has NO cab back-head detail. The original 5-pole open-frame motor is intact. The model test runs with the typical gear noise from these models. As it has been dormant for many years, basic servicing will improve the model's performance. There is no indication of any use. No irregular tarnish is evident, although the brass has aged with an even patina -- check the photos provided. The box label shows some shelf-wear, and the original packing material has been replaced. This is your chance to add a pristine example of this popular brass import to your collection.
