Description: The Hudson River School was an American art movement of the first half of the 19th century, embodied by a group of landscape painters whose aesthetic vision was influenced by European Romanticism, particularly the Little Dutch movement. The early paintings, and this work in particular, depicted the Hudson River Valley and its environs, including the Catskill, Adirondack, and White Mountains. The paint layer of the painting, the canvas, the stretcher, the wedges, and the forged nails all indicate the antique origin of the painting. It is in good antique condition, which I have tried to show in the photographs, and the signs of age give it a special charm. The frame is possibly later, although this impression may be due to its varnish coating. In the photographs, I have also tried to convey the real color scheme without any correction. There is no artist's signature on my painting, as in most of the works of this school, but by all the plot and technical features this landscape can be attributed to the Hudson River School. the size of the painting with the frame is 21.5"x17.5"
