It shows a multitude of local Hermosa landmarks that were prominent at that time. Many have vanished from the landscape over the ensuing 40 years but fortunately for the beach community quite a few still remain. Locals like us that were around then will fondly recall such long-gone nostalgic hangouts like the Either-Or Bookstore, Greeko's Sandals, Diana's Taco Burritos, Pier 52, the Surprise Store, Dewey Weber Surfboards, and the Pitcher House, to name just a few. Hermosa Beach, unlike most of the surrounding communities, has managed to hang onto some of it's most cherished relics of the past, including the Lighthouse, the Old Windmill, Learned Lumber, Hope Chapel, Spyder, Becker, and ET Surfboards. They are all, same as they were in 1984, just not quite in the architectural scale we remember. This is a highly-detailed and masterful labor of love by one of the South Bay's most talented artists.
