Description: What an absolute blast to play. This ol Trumpet (97 yrs old) is so much fun to play jazz with you can bend a note like no other Trumpet and you can slur your way from low F sharp to triple F sharp and have a glissando party. I just love the overtones and deep richness of these Trumpets so much I know Trent Austin always remarked about this early design with the big fat bell bead as being one of his favorites as well. The only reason I have listed this for Parts or Repair is because it has probably been to more dances than any girl ever. She may not be as good looking as she used to but boy she can still cut a rug. I had all the slides pulled a couple years ago and any glaring issues fixed. This Trumpet seems to be holding tight to the second valve pull even though I know that it used to work fine but I’m not going to pull too hard on it as anything or any Trumpet that is 100 years old. It is so much easier to break a solder joint .It has a very small split on the top lead pipe tube that I could probably have soldered and you wouldn’t really see it, but it has no effect at all on the playing of this Trumpet one thing is the tuning sides are very long on these old Trumpets. From a foot away this thing looks like it’s gold plated and fantastic. You have to really get up close and go over it to feel all the waves that it may have in the bell it was probably also the surf queen in the day. It’s a great playing trumpet that is so much fun to play. I was going to ship this as a Trumpet by itself. If you need an old crappy case, I can throw one in there, but it won’t be anything to show the neighbors.however, You will want to show your buddies how well it plays.. Such a rich creamy sound. I think I am selling this at a very reasonable price as I believe the service charge was about this much to have it fixed up. You won’t regret it so give an old gal another chance won’t you?
