It has leaves which look like pink quartz, but are faux, lighter weight. The base is a larege beautiful Amethyst Crystal Cluster with points on it. The amethyst base is natural, not symetrical and I believe about 7 inches or so at it's longest side, 6 inches and 5.5. It is a large heavy piece of crystal and accompanied by the large tree sculpture the entire piece weighs 6 pounds and 9 ounces before being boxed to ship. When I got this, I added a string of tiny warm white, wired led lights, battery operated to the tree. And I think it looks great. If you don't want lights you can remove them.
