Description: Aboriginal Quartzite Quarry, Barron County, WI. In pre-Columbian times the Indians of WI used quartzite for making points of various kinds. In certain regions, notably in Barron County, there are great out croppings of quartzite which make it easily obtainable. It is first flaked, and then chipped and has a fracture which makes a very fine arrowhead, spear point or other implement. The card is in good condition, aging on the border and back, with wear on the corners.
