Description: New in Box Lindsey Optics 4 x 5.65" +2 Diopter Brilliant Tray Mount Close-Up Lens 4x5.65 +2 Diopter Brilliant² Tray Mount Close-Up Lens - The 4"x5.65" +2 Diopter Brilliant² Tray Mount Close-Up Lens fits directly into 4"x5.65" matte boxes, occupying 2 slots in the matte box. A close-up lens with a strength of +2 is used to get very close-up images of small objects when the cine lens being used won't focus that closely. To create the Brilliant² Tray Mount Close-Up Lens series Lindsey mounted their 138mm Close-Up Lenses (Diopters) in a 4"x5.65" matte box tray. These large 138mm round lenses provide a 5.1" diameter clear aperture in the tray, allowing use with large lenses and wide angle lenses. All of their filter (lenses) have a broadband multi-layer anti-reflection coating (MC Coating). The unique tray mount design allows quick and easy changes of close-up lenses in both clip-on and rod mount matte boxes. They are available in 5 strengths: +1/4, +1/2, +1, +2 and +3 Diopter. The +1/4 and +1/2 fit in one slot. The +1 and +2 use 2 slots and the +3 uses 3 slots in the matte box. The Brilliant2 diopters fit in Arri™, Bright Tangerine™, Chrosziel™, Vocas™ and other professional 4x5.65 cine matte boxes. They do not work with RedRock Micro™ matte boxes. TIP HOW TO PROLONGING THE LIFE OF YOUR FILTERS Filters, like all crafted optics, are susceptible not only to breakage, but to premature aging caused by environmental factors. Most filters are made up of several layers of materials consisting of glass, dyes, optical cements, chemical compounds, particles etc. Even with protective measures employed, there are many factors that can still affect the longevity of the filter: moisture (prolonged exposure to humidity), excessive heat and excessive light are the most common environmental causes that can affect the filter’s chemistry over time. To protect your filters and keep them in great working condition for a long time (along with the rest of your camera gear) we recommend making sure to keep the filters stored in a dark, cool, and dry place when not in use. The use of filter pouches or specialized cases will also keep your filters safe from breakage when not in use. If you are in a humid environment, the addition of fresh silica gel packs or a dehumidifier in the room they are stored is also highly recommended. Protecting your filters as you would your camera lenses will ensure many years of use of your filters. What do you recommend cleaning filters with?
