Ninth Army White Back Patch Europe Bulge Germany

Description: The Patch: This Auction is for 1 WWII Vintage Ninth Army patch with a white back. This patch is in good condition. There is a bit of dirt on the front and some scrapbook residue on the back. It has a very nice white backing. This patch does not glow under the UV light and is guaranteed to be authentic. The History: The Ninth Army was activated on May 22, 1944 in Texas. It arrived in England in June of 1944 and went to France in September. Its first mission was to occupy Brest. It also protected the flank of the 12th Army Group. During the Battle of the Bulge, the Ninth Army was assigned to the British 21st Army Group and protected the Allied Northern Flank. After the Bulge, the Ninth participated in Operation Grenade the drive to the Rhine. They crossed the Rhine on March 24th and led the encirclement of the Ruhr. After the Ruhr Pocket was reduced, the Ninth drove across Germany becoming the first Allied army to cross the Elbe River. They ceased their advance just 53 miles from Berlin. They were supposed to go to the Pacific, but the war ended before they could ship out.Please read my auction requirements. I have changed them based upon feedback and ratings received.
